We are developing what is known as a WIKI to contain details of all the venues that might be used for Arts events or activities in the Wantage and Grove district. This aims to be a Wikipedia
for local venues.
A very important part of the WIKI is that it allows users to edit the text of the database. In WAGArts we hope this feature will be used to capture bits of information (and comments) from users of the venues which should be helpful to you when considering whether a given venue is the right one for you. Because these comments may be very frank, we will restrict access to the WIKI to registered users only i.e. the comments (and other details of the venues) will be shared only between ourselves,
The format of entries is very flexible. It can contain links to the venue's own website (if it has one) and it can include photos of parts of the venue etc.
The aim is to make it really easy for members to contribute to the descriptions (as well as the comments) so that the whole collection becomes more useful to everyone. So if you are reading a venue description and you spot a mistake, or an omission, you can just click the Edit button and change the entry there and then. If what you write is considered by others to be a matter of (your) opinion, be prepared to have your text re-edited by others who disagree!
